AVOID: This is a horrible company Grove & Dean is an insurance agency whose operating model is to offer cheap headline prices to tempt you in. They will then scour the insurance industry's databases for insurance quotes you've taken out in the past. They are looking for anything in those quotes that they can find to get you to pay more. They look through any insurance quotes, not just for car insurance and not just with them.
They then phone you to "discuss your policy". They are looking for ways to increase your premium. If you decide that you don't want to pay any premium increase, you can, of course, cancel your policy. However, they will charge you to cancel your policy, typically more than 50% of the price of the policy. BEWARE: They will charge you their massive cancellation fee even if your policy hasn't started yet.
Although it isn't unusual to charge a cancellation fee during the cooling off period, reputable companies don't do this until after the policy commencement date. Not G&D, they charge their cancellation fee from the moment you buy the policy online - even weeks or months ahead of the start of the policy! They are just one small step up from cold-call scammers.

Many, many hidden admin fees for any change or policy amendment and "it's in the contract" comments as the only justification for these "admin fees" 50 admin fee plus additional charge to add a driver seems excessive. Also tried to cancel original policy before cooling down period and told I'd be charged admin fee which was excessive! Definitely will NOT be using this company in future.

I contacted Grove and Dean by Phone, regarding Classic Car insurance. The call was answered within 4 rings, very quick!. No holding on the line forever. My enquiry for Car insurance was dealt with by George. He was very helpful and polite and was thorough in explaining the terms of the policy, answering any questions i had. In turn being very happy with the policy and price, i now have insured my vehicle with Grove and Dean. Thank you George for your help today. a great asset, as part of the Team at Grove and Dean. I would recommend this Company.

I received my new UK license so phoned to inform G&V and they took all the new details over the phone. The gentleman I spoke to advised all was fine. He even put me on hold as he say there was a comment on my profile. After checking, he confirmed all is sorted. I then kept getting notifications that my policy is going to be canceled, which it was.
When I phoned to check, the lady advised I needed to re apply or go to another company to be insured. : No one can still tell me why my policy was canceled. I then see a and amount of 218 has also been deducted off my account! Extremely poor communication and not good advise from the call centre. I Definitely did feel like just a "number" and no one seems to be able to assist. I DEFINITELY would not recommend this company

Have used them for a few years for house insurance BUT this year went up too much which is just daft as we haven't claimed ever and we are not a risk at all. Your loss not ours as we won't re insure with you again. Went with urban jungle, we got better cover for about 165.00 quid less. Really you need to improve your customer service and don't rip people off. Sorry but that sort of difference is just not acceptable

I have been very impressed by the service from this company. Following my online application I was contacted by a member of the team who verified everything with me and was very informative. I have recently been in contact again and have spoken to a few staff members and have found them all to be courteous and friendly. The waiting time between calls was minimal and the calls were as pleasant as can be with regards to insurance!

My car insurance was due to renewal and shopped around in one of the price comparison websites. Grove & Dean came up with a competitive price along with good reviews so I started the process online. A few days later I finally managed to speak to a lady to confirm my details. Now, the problems started when I explained that I have exchanged my EU driving licence to a UK one last year.
Despite I have passed my test 20yrs ago, been driving in the UK on my EU licence since 2012 and have 5 yrs of NCD, I was still classed as a new driver and my insurance premium doubled. (Bear in mind that DVLA exchanged my licence over the post, I wasn't required to pass any additional tests so it is recognised as equal. Moreover, I was not legally required to exchange it because despite Brexit the UK continues to accept EU licences.
I've only done it for convenience as it is not easy to travel to my home country to renew a driving licence in the midst of a pandemic.) In short, exchanging my EU licence to a UK one is no different than getting a new one for address change or renew the photo on it, it's a simple and straightforward process. Still, Grove & Dean tried to use it as an opportunity to rip me off and charge more than double of the original quote, and in doing so they are discriminative and disregard DVLA guidelines.
I have emailed Grove & Dean multiple times to sort out my problem and never received a reply. The only further communication from their side was notifying me of cancellation of my policy (even before it started) which is probably a good thing. I would not trust them to insure a tricycle.

I am so sorry that I used this company as the staff in the Romford office do not know the legalities of what they are talking about. I was told I had to obtain evidence of my insurance policy. The admin assistant said they cant accept an email from the insurance company it must be a letter! So dont use, because you do all the admin work so you might as well not bother with a broker.

The worst insurance company! My friend help me to searched home insurance and he did mistake after I found out they debit more money them self. The amount mot match the search results. I told them I didn't buy insurance from them. It's a mistake my friend did online. Buy they send letter to me said canceled but they still want me to pay full year payment. And keep send letters to me to threat me. Don't buy insurance with this company. I am sure you will regret!

Been with Grove & Dean 2 years I fell ill tried to update my employment details to not employed due to illness. Which does not effect my ability to drive. Just unemployed. They tried to renew at 2000 a year! From 348! Total let down Please avoid. No customer loyalty there is plenty of other reputable insurers out there.

I took out a policy today, 05/11/21, for it to start on 10/11/21 and was offered a better deal with my current suppliers so asked for the policy to be cancelled as per the 14 day cooling off period. They told me that I would be charged 35 to cancel because they have to pay the comparison company a fee but would not state how much that was and said the charge was to cover documents issues (all might I add are digital). What a joke. Just day light robbery. Even with the charge my current providers are still cheaper.

I have been a client of Grove &Dean now for a number of years and have always found them easy to talk to and very understanding. They helped me out when I lost my no claims bonus due to not driving for 27 months when they did not have to and this year they found me a fantastic price for my classic car insurance. What a truly unprofessional company! My husband passed away and I tried to cancel his insurance they wouldn't discuss over the phone, not interested unless making money. I was just told to email customer services which I did, no response had to chase still no response. My husband email account is still live and I noticed an email from G&D confirming cancellation but no refund- there was still 6 months to run on policy! They won't discuss with me as I'm not on the policy! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY

If I could give 0 stars I would; notified the company my car insurance policy was not to be renewed 4 weeks before the anniversary date. Regardless, a payment was taken from my bank, and not only that but after insuring a car with them for 12 months with no accidents/claims, the premium increased from 400 to 990? Absolute crooks, AVOID!
