There are no words to describe the incredible care that I have received. Northwestern Memorial Hospital is by far the best hospital in the Chicago area. All the staff members are beyond belief, very professional, kind, unbelievable!

We absolutely love this place! We've had nothing but good experiences. I just had my first baby a few days ago and the quality of care has been incredible and always done with a professional and caring attitude from every member of staff we encountered. I cannot express how thankful we are for the treatment we have received here.

Quality of care is hit or miss, depending on what doctor you see. I have a great psychiatrist, and had an outstanding surgeon for a serious procedure, but have also had such lousy neurologists and cardiologists I may as well not have even gone to the appointments. But their real problem is billing. They double bill. They bill scheduled offices visits as "emergency" (including labs). Billing dept staff treats you like dirt and you have to fight for months to get proper charges.

Try getting an itemized bill from them - it's like winning the lottery if they come through. And I say this as someone who has gone to N'Western for 17 straight years for all health care and paid everything in full and on time for all those years. It used to be better. Now I feel that if you go there, you'd better have a lawyer.

This is the finest example of medical facilities. They have staff well identified to guide or assist you any where, any way you need. Everyone comes with a hello and a smile. Deeper inside the facilities your experience becomes one on one. Every staff member works at your pace and are focused on you and your medical needs. To all the staff members you are a very impressive group of people.

I cannot put into words how amazing this hospital is. I found their compassionate bedside manner and dealing with our family exceptional, especially during a global pandemic. They were especially proactive when preparing for a family member (an incoming critical patient from another hospital) and kept us informed every step of the way. The ICU doctor and nurse, well, I don't really know how best to describe them except they are angels on earth. Literally.

Thank you for delivering difficult news with compassion and empathy, but transparency as well. Every other hospital avoided these difficult conversations and it was helpful in getting the closure we needed.

My mother has been waiting in the emergency room since 11am. The staff is really rude! It's now 7pm and my mom still hasn't seen a doctor. I go in to ask about her wait status & they said someone came out & called out for her. They lied! We haven't left and no one has called out her name. One of the staff had the audacity to tell me "I'll tell them you're back. We called her name a few mins ago." Worse hospital experience ever!

Excellent caring and rapid service demonstrating expertise, efficiency, professionalism, and true concern, from all doctors and nurses, for my daughter who was admitted this evening. Even the parking garage security worker escorted me to my vehicle on a snowy night. Best ER experience I've endured.

A very good hospital, but from this point on everybody having the COVID-19 and if anyone coughing inside or sneezing. I recommend for the hospital staffs to be on point, and to have security bothering people who is sneezing and coughing without mask on, other than bothering and harassing me whenever I need their service. If a hospital staff nurse tell a patient they are allow to relax until a social worker come inside when they are arriving at work during work hours. Those security are not the police, and half of them are already violating the rules and regulations.

I had a partial lobectomy (lung removal) performed by Dr. Kalvin Lung in July 2021. My experience couldn't have been better. First, Dr. Lung is the kindest and most caring doctor I've ever met and his nurse Kim is also. The surgery was a complete success. The care I received from the nursing staff during my hospital stay was good as was the food. I was also impressed by the rapid response from staff when monitors revealed I was having an "a fib" moment.

My release from hospital, complete with arrangement for home health care, oxygen, and future appointments, was seamless. I am so happy that Northwestern Medicine has become the major heath care provider in my town Huntley where I also have a great oncologist in Dr. Wan, a caring primary Dr. Hoffman, and other doctors, so it's much better and easier than having to deal with multiple providers.

Completely agree with another reviewer who said "Northwestern compared to other hospitals in Chicago deserves 5 stars, as the others are terrible in comparison." After a horrible experience at Weiss Memorial Hospital (zero stars) I went to Northwestern for a much-needed second opinion. All because the doctor I was assigned to, a 30-year veteran and the unprofessional nurses, left me by myself for 7 1/2 hours in excruciating pain without saying one word to me, I was just ignored!

Now onto NW.the thing I liked most about my experience was how well everything was organized, from the way the registration process was handled, to the intake, and more importantly, to the efficiency of the doctor I was assigned to. An energetic and highly capable Resident by the name of Dr. Megan Chenworth, and a nurse by the name of Kira (sorry don't know her last name).

I liked that I was seen almost immediately by the doctor, and carted off within a matter of minutes to the x-ray department, and then finally told by the why I was in so much pain. The reason being, my ankle was broken in 2 places, the right and left side, with some ligament damage. It really hurt and still does, 8 days later. Another observation, they're very big on team-work here, there's no pettiness, or look of disgust when you try to ask them a question.

You don't get that sarcasm, or quizzical look that comes from some workers at other hospitals, like Weiss! I'll never go back to Weiss, but instead go back to *Northwestern for future visits. P.S. this is the second time in 2 years I've gone to Northwestern and can definitely confirm it was just as good as the first time!
